Description
This past weekend I opened my Secret Santa gift and got this really cool take on Lone Wolf and Cub from my buddy James. I love the dynamic movement with Lone Wolf advancing right out of the darkness in the background and about to charge off the page. The facial expressions also help set the mood. Excellent choice James! Thank you for the thoughtful gift! 🎁🙏

Even better now that I get to see it up close! Great balance on the page as this fierce warrior prepares to engage in battle! Happy holidays Daryl!

The kid's gotta grow up eventually. May as well be while he's a baby.

Thanks again for the gift James! 🤫🎅🏻 Secret Santa knows what I like!

I heard James was originally going to get me "Shaolin Cowboy and Spider-Man Fighting a Cybernetic Tyrannosaurus Rex Piloted by a Macaque," but he later switched it up to LW&C. Man, that would have been embarrassing if we both got the same thing.

Lol the posting of two separate SCASMFACTRPBAM could have possibly brought down CAF servers for the foreseeable future. Not to mention a heated social media exchange between Eranga and Ron :)

Salas has such a great grasp on light and dark with his inkwork with hints of both Miller and Samnee.

The fire and the fury of the Christmas spirit!  The passion for revenge personified through pen and ink!

Dig the charging pose a lot and the brush work is killer - wispy in some spots and overall providing a nice contrast.  Congrats!

The use of shadows here is perfect, as is the chest hair!

Wow! How cool is this? Stunning commission of Lone Wolf and Cub by Ron Salas! I love the way Ron drew Ogami Ittō, running forward with weapons at the ready. Awesome to see little Daigoro hanging on to his father's back in the midst of battle! Love the lighting effect here, with Ogami lit from the side, yet popping against the dark smoke. Outstanding pick-up, congrats!
