My first commission of the year! When I saw that Richard Friend was accepting a small amount of inking commissions before the end of last year, I jumped at the opportunity to have a piece inked. Back in 2007 David Finch had drawn a tightly rendered Captain America in my Avengers sketchbook. Since the original was so tight I wanted to keep it in its original pencil form, but I was open to having a copy inked. Richard's recent commissions he has been re-penciling pieces and inking on top of that instead of the blueline route.

Richard added a lot to this piece as we discussed what I was looking for in this piece being inked and we were both on the same page. Comparing this to the original, Richard added a lot of his touches to this piece including additional tombstones, trees and detail to the moon.

I'm very pleased with how this turned out! Great turnaround time as well!

I think Cap knows we're checking him out with that turn of the head! Really unique shine effect on the shield!
