Thick broad paint strokes are the perfect way to show the power of these waves. It looks like they are in constant motion with so many colors we take for granted.

Mike is one of the best landscape painters working today. He really captures the scene and adds drama to it in a way only a concept artist knows how. The fact that he's using gouache is also just great. Great purchase Matt!

He really is fantastic. Those thick strokes with all the unmixed color are unmatched! I was happy to be able to pick up one of his studies. Maybe one of these days I'll pick up one of his bigger studies. His color sense is great, no wonder he works a a key lighting artist for animation.
