Description
Eclipse Comics, one of the more ambitious and prolific publishers of the 1980s, used Truman's Scout series to launch a preview of Airboy -- a modern-age revival of a midcentury war-adventure book. This sequence reintroduces such supporting characters as the skull-faced Misery, the Heap, Black Angel and Iron Ace, all featured in the great bottom panel. Incredible inks by Thomas Yeates. Interesting hand-written note at the bottom as Truman asks Yeates if he can have the page. Yeates responds: "All yours brother!" Truman must have held onto the piece until recently when the page was auctioned on behalf of longtime comics professional, Larry Shell, whose artist friends donated this page and other pieces to assist him in a time of need.

Great menagerie of characters at the bottom!  The grim reaper and the close up for the eyes are killer!

Yeates really makes this page look stellar. I can't even make a snarky comment.
