DescriptionJack Sparling / Star Spangled War Stories #173 Unknown Soldier Story "No Holds Barred!" ( DC, 1973). The Unknown Soldier goes undercover as a famed Nazi wrestler, just before his big match with a Japanese Sumo star; in reality, this is all reconnaissance work to aid in Australia's fight against Imperial Japan. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an average image area of 10" x 15". Production tape, production marks/notes, paste-up corrections to art, whiteout, toning, and handling wear. Very nice triple verticals to emphasize the heights of this descent. The tangents is a nice design element across certain panels.
