Always wanted to have a commission done of my favorite Watchmen character, but in my hometown of Chicago. But could not find an artist to make me want to jump in. But when I saw Myles' work on an OAX preview show, I knew that was it - an oil painting by THAT guy.

I love how Myles had the night sky reflect the shapes in Rorschach's mask . . . and the little, tiny spot of blood on his gloves. The light coming up from Michigan Avenue against the building is beautiful, as is the leather.

What made this even better was that Myles is still a fanboy himself, working on trading cards, card games, book covers, video games, and he puts that enthusiasm into his art. I am already thinking about what I want him to do for me next.

Hurm! Rorschach's journal 1/26/24, I'm not trapped in OAX with them, they are trapped in OAX with bad pizza and with me!

This lavish treatment of Watchmen characters hasn't been seen since Before Watchmen. This is even more grand of an image than the covers.

I got to see this one at OAX when I picked up my piece from Myles. I liked the Chicago skyline in the background as well.
