Description
Day 06. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues!

Today is Revenge of the Sixth! (May 6th that is. Swimming pools, dark lords.)

Still haunted by the death of Anakin Skywalker's beloved Padmé in Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader is sent on a mission to locate a lost Imperial expeditionary force - led by the son of Vader's rising nemesis, Moff Tarkin. The danger of Vader's journey into the unexplored Ghost Nebula increases when there are traitors among his crew and the system's religious leader, Lady Saro, joins the mission.

At the end of issue 4, Vader and his squad of trusty 501st troopers are ambushed and the dark lord is captured. As this issue opens, he finds himself restrained, his armor severely damaged, and he is pitied by a vision of Padmé.

Thanks must go to Nick Barrucci. This was a purchase from one of his Friday shows on The EXP last year.

Oh-oh
Mmm

Well, I wonder, could it be
When I was dreaming Leonardi, with the inking of Green
Call me Ani
Call me blind
To still be suffering in comics after all of Sith time

Did I lose my love to the Emperor
And does he love you like I do, I do
You know I really, really do

Well, hey, so much I need this page
Been lonely since the day
The day you went Padme
So sad but true, for me there's Ani you
Been crying since the page
The day you went Padme

Great to see a legend like Rick Leonardi handling the business with the Star Wars universe and Dan Green's organic embellishing style is also the bomb!

Love Leonardi...just a strong organic quality to his work.  And the late great Dan Green was a perfect match...a dynamic duo they did make.  Love here how you've got the lighted less rendered figured on the left vs the more shadowed one the right.  Also pairs well with the other piece you posted from this arc!  Congrats!

Fantastic page. Love Leonardi's linework especially on Padme in the top half splash and Dan Green's inks are killer. I really enjoy seeing Vader with his helmet off but with the rest of his gear on like that. And the dialogue too is very reminscint of what he says in the Obi-Wan series "I am what you made me..." versus "I am what my masters have made me"...awesome. happy revenge of the sixth!

A great combo for a beautiful page. I love the strong contrast between Anakin and the ethereal, delicate figure of Padme!
