Wow! A great fight sequence of panels on this amazing early Mirage Studios work/page by Eastman & Laird, and from Casey Jones' first appearance! absolutely love the original TMNT run (and the individual character one shots). huge congrats (also super jealous!) dude!
on a roll!!
I'm usually not one for nostalgia, but as I grow older, I've found it to be more and more unavoidable. Like you, I started with The Turtles pretty early. I jumped on with issue #2. I scrambled to track down the first issue, but by then it had already become a comic unicorn and first printings were not easy to find, much less afford (so I think I have a 2nd or 3rd printing around here somewhere). And when Mirage became a full blown studio with all the Turtles spinoffs, I had to have them too. While I love the early more innocent days of studio, by the time they became a "franchise" and a "property", I had already begun to get a little disillusioned. Anyway, thanks for taking me back with this wonderful early page. I would say that it's been a fun trip down memory lane but the crick in my back says otherwise.
Wow ! This brings back all the feels of picking this up when I was a lot younger. There's nothing like Casey Jones fighting Raphael. Great pick up!
Better than a free pizza with extra anchovies!
Hurts the m to f ratio in your collection..but casey is worth it!!
Oh wow! A wonderful, early Toitles interior that really boasts a great fight sequence and panel layout. That last panel is RAD! Great page! (crowd goes wild)
That's a very beautiful page from an iconic title!!!!
Cowabunga!
Great page!
So great to capture pieces of our childhood. Cool detail about you day dreaming about these comics coming to life in animation form. It's now come to life in so many ways and that day dream has come true in a variety of ways. Cheers to day dreaming about things we love.
You can't resist the pull of Turtle Power nostalgia! Great page - congrats!
Such an iconic page! Huge congrats!
Perfect!
Well, that'll be the page
When you say good buy
Yes, that'll be the page
When Duke makes me cry
You say you're just a teen
You know it's a sai
'Cause that'll be the page
When I fight
Well, you gave me ninja loving
And your Turtle kicking
And your punch and misses
And your Raffi too
Duo you love me, Casey
Still you tell Fleed, maybe
That someday well
I'll be through
Wow, very cool page, great stuff, congrats!
40 years old already...where has the time gone?!?!?! Congrats on the awesome pick up!!!
If this exact page was fro the regular series, it probably would have cost you twice as much! Fantastic action!
"Cricket? Nobody understands cricket! You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!"
Radical!
Raphael was easily my favorite as a kid. That attitude!
Beautiful!
This Raphael one-shot was my first-ever Turtles comic. I bought it the same day as The Dark Knight Returns #2, and to 13 year old me, it was absolutely mind-blowing. From that day on, I was completely hooked on the Turtles. Fantastic page.
Boom huge congrats this is what I'm taking about amazing page!
This issue was so great! Action throughout!
Nostalgia bomb!
Holy, your updates never cease to amaze. Congrats!
Awesome pickup! I wish I kept more of these Raphael pages but glad still have one. Can't go wrong with Casey and Raphael!
We caught-on to the turtles at the same time. I think I first saw them mentioned in the editorial column of Heavy Metal and within days was vending next to them at a convention in Boston. That Raphael one-shot is still my favorite TMNT book of all time.
Great!
Nice battle page. Great to see art from this early in the run. Hope to see it in person soon.
Love the way this one speaks to Casey's character! Classic page by the classic duo. Congrats!
