Description
One thing I really miss in newer OA are word balloons. The best comic book art, to me, is a perfect blend of words and pictures. The reason I like comics is the story, the writing...I want that represented on the OA. I guess that's my long-winded reason why I like this page so much. It features all our main characters as they're about to begin their series-long journey. Brian K. Vaughan spells it all out here. A key page from one of my favorite modern series.

Completely agree. Comics are pictures AND words. It's just not the same if the words are missing.

It would be marvelous if you could have the words but having seen my share of horribly yellowed and glue stained balloons and captions, I can live without them. I think some of the letterers were sniffing the glue, based on all the random glue stains on some pages I have seen.
