Description
The passing of Ramona Fradon prompted me to go into my files in search of a long neglected work by Ramona that for one reason or another I have not posted.

So here is a remarkable depiction of Aquaman by Ramona Fradon from Showcase 30.

This is a page 1, splash recreation done by Ramona many years ago.

I know I picked this up because it immediately reminded me a of childhood memory of reading the book next to an upside down mattress while my father put new wallpaper in a bedroom.

I also recall this is one of the first comics I bought, perhaps one of the first three.

RIP Ramona.

Ramona's timeless style, unique talent, and vast imagination are on great display here.  The art is an undersea treasure from a national treasure.  So glad you've posted it.

A very nice composition to frame Aquaman getting trouble from both sides.  The lines are smooth curves and show that she still had great control and skills that defied age.  Those extra details on the scales of reptillian textures and the underwater sci-fi city in the distance are fabulously measured to show the exuberence at the dawn of the silver age.
