" There’s always a subconscious chuckle that I have to suppress when I see a Bagley piece. I was one of the many who snickered at the Marvel Try Out Book contest when it launched back in the early 80’s. All I could think of was, how desperate must Marvel (and Jim Shooter) be? So when Mark won it, I found it difficult to take him seriously in any way. Especially after he ended up being the regular artist on my favorite character. But with a career spanning over four decades, Mark has more than proven that he was no joke. Congrats on this great Spidey piece. Just a bit skeptical about it not costing an arm and a leg. From what I've seen, Bagley's stuff is not exactly cheap.

Many thanks, Eric. As they say, hindsight is 20-20 vision. I totally understand your sentiments because I wasn't into Bagley initially but his artwork gradually grew on me. And, yes, I am not kidding - it wasn't extremely cheap to be sure but the price was in fact very reasonable, in my view.
