written by Mariko Tamaki

Supergirl: Being Super was a mini series that did a different take on Supergirl.
Supergirl is sent to earth at a very young age and does not remember Krypton, The world appears to have no super-heroes and Kara's powers do not kick in until she hits puberty. So she has to deal with all her teenage issues as well as her new powers. And once her powers manifest, there is a government agency very intent in capturing her for experimentation.

On this cover, an earthquake hit her hometown and her powers fade out just as she is trying to save her friend.

I'm not so sure about this one Miki. Her powers kick in when she reaches puberty. Sounds sort of mutanty to me. Stay in the light Miki, don't fall to the dark side.

I talked to Tamaki on the telephone
Long distance
I never would've guessed
I could Jones someone so bad, yeah
I'm really only Super 'bout a week ago
But
It doesn't seem to matter to my art I know quake is over
I'm Being not so Super on cover

'Cause she's good for me
And it would really quake me Miki
To never let her slip away

I feel like a kid with a teenage crush
At a young age
I feel I can read all "Mariko's old manifest" yeah

I'm a little puberty
I'm a little bit scared
I guess I never felt this much despair
That it's over
I'm hoping that she's Super on cover

Cause she's Tamaki
And Joëlle really makes me happy
To never let her slip away

A great looking, suspensful cover image! I'm really digging Jones' work and am just about to dig into the first two volumes of her Lady Killer series, which I borrowed fro mthe library after being impressed with her art on a page posted not too long ago by Jeff Wedding. Cool beans!
