Description

After being stabbed through the heart in issue sixteen, Rogue begins to manifest the powers of many of the people she has touched over the years and decides to try and use this ability to take down Vargas.

One of the reasons I wanted this page was due to the rare appearance of Lifeguard! Heather Cameron was a lifeguard and a surfer, living in Surfer's Paradise in Australia. Unbeknownst to her, her father was an underworld crime lord known as Viceroy, and upon his death, she was attacked. During a mission to infiltrate the ship of the intergalactic warlord, Khan, Heather's appearance changed to resemble the alien Shi'ar race, and it was theorized that she had some Shi'ar heritage.

To me, lifeguard was a great example of the kind of character, and world building, that is quintessentially Chris Claremont. Unfortunately Lifeguard's character on the series was short lived, and she has not been strongly developed since.

Anyway, its a cool page that highlights her, and the larger team in a few panels!

Fantastic recall on Lifeguard, she was a fun character lost in the shuffle.
