Description
I got pulled into the original 1984 Amethyst maxi-series by Ernie Colon's memorable art. The character lives apart from the DC Universe most of the time by design, but she comes back around periodically. The 2020 reboot featured Amy Reeder on both story and art, a combination not common at either Marvel or DC. The first six pages of this issue recap Amy's life story, and she hops through a portal to her magical home. But as we see here, her home is not as she left it...

With this layout, you can almost imagine that the colors would make a great floral pattern.  As even Reeder's crystal hard structures look like they would have a soft edge to them.

A really nicely drawn page! I am not a fan of the colors on the published page.

This is really cool, especially seeing the contrast between the original and the published versions.  You really get a sense of how the visual effects enhance the published art with the lighting and coloration.
