That is a very cool piece of art and an even cooler story. Congrats
That is very cool!!
Great story. CONGRATS!
Always happy to hear a story like this. Congrats on getting the cover to your first comic!
Very timely with the movie coming out! It's about time a new cycle of films come out reviving this franchise that holds up a mirror to human society. This is great artwork from Marcos to have every bit of the drama the US books had.
It's a fantastic example to boot! It even looks like someone other than Marcos inked the head, as the tool used appears different and so do the lines compared to everything else on the cover. Looks great! Congrats on landing this one, Heidjer. The only question is: Does this now become your Holy Grail?
Surprsingly enough, no. The Sandman page is still my grail. It is in my Top 5 though.
That's fair enough, and, I didn't think so! 😉
Stupendous cover!!!
Love the background story. Oh - the cover is awesome as well. Congrats.
I echo everyone's sentiments in that this is an awesome cover with an awesome backstory!!
Congratulations!!
Wonderful, cool cover! Congratulations on picking up this grail piece!
A great cover - I remember it well (although my brother got that comic, while I got the Mighty World of Marvel). It was quite garishly coloured, so the original black and white image seems to show up much more of Marcos' skill. It's a great viewing angle. Interesting that you had some of the UK collecting experience in your childhood! It so often meant buying a US comic, and seeing references to characters and stories which only made sense when reading the reprints of earlier issues in our B&W comics!
So nostalgic- I can remember reading this so vividly. Pablo's covers were incredibly powerful and dynamic in this period. I'd dearly love to have one in my collection!
