Batman by Jeph Loeb

It's becoming a main stay on my yearly convention list, but in 2024 once more, Paris Fan Festival was the place to be last weekend. Aside from some great artist names, their big hitter was writer Jeph Loeb.

To my best knowledge, he hasn't visited any nearby European convention in almost ten years, so my wife and I made the drive over. It was an 8 hour drive total, and then another 6 hours of queueing (where we took turns so I could still talk to some artists), but it was worth it.

He was signing at a fraction of the price he does in the US, was drawing sketches for fans and obliged in adding some quotes in my omnibuses. On top of that, I was able to talk to the man for a solid 5 minutes. More wasn't possible, as we knew that not everyone in the massive queue would even meet Jeph that day. What an incredible turnout for him.

A small detail that warmed my heart, is that he doodled hearts next to Tim Sale's signature in my books. Jeph was incredibly nice, generous with his time and graced me with this fun Batman sketch.
