Description

Fans of Jeremy Bastian's whimsical and detailed fantasy drawings should check out this book, in which Morgana LeFay shatters Excalibur, scattering the pieces across time and space. Merlin sends four of Arthur's knights to reassemble it: The knights of blue, red, white, and black. This page from the hardback edition shows Morgana holding Excalibur, along with the mocking Sir Death, Dragunas' signature skeleton conquistador. Morgana is a demon who took a beautiful human form to distract men.

Dragunas told me that he draws on vellum rather than paper because its ultra-smooth surface allows him to make long, unbroken lines without losing steam.

Any one of those images would have sold by itself!  The vellum does make the inks jump with energy.
