Original cover art from Johnny Bruck (* March 22, 1921; � October 6, 1995).

Gouache on illustration board. Size roughly 14 x 20 in.

Cover of German Atlan episode #82, published under the title 'Ottac - der Sternentramp' (Ottac - The Star Tramp) in 1973.

This piece was originally created as cover for TERRA EXTRA #63 (1964) with the title 'Die Dracheninsel' (Dragon's Island). Bruck adjusted it for use in the ATLAN series later.

Atlan da Gonozal is a main character of the Perry Rhodan series. Given the character was very popular, it was given its own series within the Perry Rhodan universe starting 1969. It was quite successful and the last edition #850 was published in 1988. Johnny Bruck painted the majority of covers.

Bruck is painting dsperation into the face and the strained muscles as the saucers invade! The only thing missing is his Wilson volleyball with a red face.
