Red Sonja! By Frank Thorne – Marvel Feature Red Sonja #2, Pg 17 (Marvel, 1975) - First Frank Thorne Red Sonja!

This beautifully illustrated page from Frank Thorne done in graphite and Ink is also historic as it’s the FIRST issue Frank did of his most famous character! Frank was chosen to be the main artist for Red Sonja's first solo series, but timing with Marvel didn't work out so Roy Thomas (Marvel Editor and famed writer) had to reprint a story and run a short story (art by Dick Giordano) in the first issue before Frank started with his first illustrated work on Red, the story titled: "Blood of the Hunter."

This nice page features Red Sonja in 5 of 6 PANELS! A kiss from Red Sonja is a special treat for fans, for she has sworn to never give herself to any man unless they can defeat her in combat. Early Red Sonja pages are a rare find, and Frank Thorne Red Sonja published Marvel pages are extremely rare, as his run only lasted a couple years and this is his first issue!
