Guang Yap pencils with Rubinstein inks is a treat to see. Destined to land in your collection!
Congrats on getting this one. Lovely addition to your collection.
Thank you for pointing my way, this was a great piece at a price I can handle at the moment. Cheers!
Congrats on the page! I helped the Ebay seller with some of the info for this page to provide a more accurate description (got my Persuasion OHUTMU page from her). And I agree it was a great price!
Thank you for helping get it out with proper info, when I saw it I wanted nothing else at the time so was a great piece for my collection. Cheers
That seller friend of yours is continuing to sell some great pieces.
Actually, I don't know the seller personally. After winning the Persuasion page, I wrote her a thank you message on Ebay. She wrote back letting me know she was actually selling her husband's collection and she knew little about comic book art. She asked me for help identifying your page (which comic, creators, etc.) and I was able to. She has contacted me every so often when she has a page she has questions about and I help her as much as I can.
I'm sure it upsets a certain crowd that don't understand that this story has been brewing for more than 30 years and their reaction is to think the world has suddenly changed and comics ain't what they used to be. It's been here all along from 1991 and it even goes further back.
I dug this annual out of a quarter bin as a kid because of the rad Mignola cover and I couldn't tell you what happened in the main story. This backup story really stuck with me back then and as I got a little older I really realized how significant it was.
Mystique and Destiny are pretty much the definition of "be gay, do crime" and the world is better for it. It's kinda wild that it took until 2020 to confirm that yeah they're married by the way because the subtext was basically text at that point haha.
What a great pickup. Awesome story page with real connection to the characters. Some very nice art by Guang Yap as well. I can’t say I’ve come across his work before. Congrats.
Great X-page and post celebrating the love between these 2 characters and the long overdue payoff of it in current publishing. I especially like how the pattern on Destiny's clothing is depicted. A quiet scene but speaks much louder. Congrats!
