Description
How cool was the latest CAF Live Interview and Art sale with Fred Hembeck.
For someone that has always appreciated his art, it is so wonderful to see that Fred Hembeck gets this recognition and it is amazing to see his artwork pop up in various top collections.

Here is a complete story of Fred‘s Spider-Ham, this was published in Marvel Tales 216 and is to my knowledge the first Spider-Ham that he did for the Marvel Tales book. There were numerous later stories as well.

I uploaded the 5 page story in form of additional images, so feel free to check these out to see the full story.

Fred‘s first Spider-Ham work was on the original Peter Porker - The Spectacular Spider-Ham series. He pencilled issue 4, and inks were by another Spider-Ham Artist legend, Mr. Jose Albelo.

Wow! You picked up a full Hembeck story! Kudos to you! Ferd Hembeck is a marvelous satirist and his Spider-Ham stories are a delightul treat for those who appreciate his humor. I love this half-splash page. The large opening panel features a distinctly Hembeck-style Spider-Ham swinging from a web that looks sort of like a Slinky. I love the cityscape behind him--The buildings look more like they belong in Lego-Land than Manhattan. And the cool stamps featuring the Lord of Quackvaria that adorn the right side of the splash are a fun parody of the Marvel Value Stamps that were published in Marvel comics during the early 1970's. Really this is a terrific parody story! Fantastic pick-up, congrats!

Every illustration by Hembeck makes me smile. Swiping through your story is next level of comic book fun. And then I realize it's all original art! Congrats, my friend
