AVENGER - M. E. COMICS - DICK AYERS

I commissioned this stunning Avenger illustration through the mail. The Avenger was introduced in 1955 and starred in four issues of THE AVENGER published by Magazine Enterprises. Dick Ayers penciled and inked the origin story and other stories in the first issue; Bob Powell illustrated the last three issues. The hero's costume was very striking, almost entirely red with white trimming. The Avenger also had a super-cool Star-jet, as seen in this illustration. I love the detail Ayers put into this -- really great stuff!
