Description
Man-Thing
Illustration/Art by Doug Baron

This cool Man-Thing illustration was a gift awhile back from the ever generous Jeff Wedding, thanks as always for the thought and for the friendship/support dude!

I rarely post a picture these days over a scan, but when this piece scans it sort of comes out sideways (probably need to re-do with a white sheet of paper behind it perhaps) and darker from the scanner than the piece reflects in a well back-lit photo, so I've opted for a photo for the main image here and the odd scan I'll tack onto the additional images.

This pairs nicely with the other Doug Baron he sent my way when we did a separate Star Wars art deal together, Salacious B. Crumb

I could see Man-Thing and Salacious B. Crumb hanging out in a cantina, I knew those pieces needed to live together.

How perfect of you to post this today, as just late last night I watched Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing was the only cool thing about the episode!

ha nice! I enjoyed Werewolf by Night, I think it was only available in Black and White when I saw it but it's now also available in full color? Not entirely sure. But yeah I'd say Man-Thing was definately the coolest part for me, I didn't mind the other parts of it though - thought it was well done overall and for being a directorial debut from Michael Giacchino who is more well known for being a film scorer/composer than a director, pretty impressive first project behind the camera

Well, you have to understand that my view of it is strongly affected by the fact that that the episode is titled Werewolf by Night, it's 46 minutes long, yet Werewolf by Night only comes out towards the end and for only 5-6 minutes. The episode may as well have been titled Man-Thing!

Is Jeff trying to give you nightmares with art of creepy characters? Stephen King would approve.

Isn't it the Man-Thing?
Comics in the night, a dream that scan be worse
Isn't it the Man-Thing?
Moving Sallis lights the oldest magic world

I fear that he is burning in many he touch
While all the world is saying you were meant for muck
Isn't it the Man-Thing?
Merely to Baron on Wolf by night as this?

Isn't it the Man-Thing?
Every home Ted's hung has like a Wedding gift
Sweet symbols in the moonlight
Do you mean that I will fall in muck, perchance?
Isn't it from friends?

This is quite the gift! And the Salacious Crumb he gave you is great as well!
