Nancy comic strip 2012/11/27 featuring Aunt Fritzi Ritz and the return of Phil Fumble by Guy Gilchrist

A key entry in the strip's history. This marks the return of Phil Fumble, who had never been a regular in the 'Nancy' strip. 'Phil Fumble' began as the topper to the Sunday 'Fritzi Ritz' and was unrelated to the main strip. When the 'Fritzi Ritz' daily was renamed 'Nancy' in 1938, the Sunday 'Fritzi Ritz' remained, 'Phil Fumble' (which by then was a half-page, just like 'Fritzi') was discontinued and 'Nancy' got its own Sunday. Phil then joined Fritzi's Sunday strip, only making *very* occasional appearances in the 'Nancy' strip and other media.

In 1999, during the 60th Anniversary of 'Nancy' celebrations, Brad & Guy Gilchrist did a strip showing a flashback to when Fritzi was dating Phil where he proposes and she only decides not accept when she learns he snores after he falls asleep ion the phone waiting for her to answer.

But in this 2012 strip , Guy (now working alone) brought Phil back for good, clearly aiming to rekindle the romance. In short order, he redesigned Phil, to make him Fritzi's height and "hunkier", for lack of a better word. When Gilchrist finally left the strip in 2018, he ended with the marriage of Fritzi and Phil.
