DescriptionI promised myself not to gush here, so I will make this as short and to the point as I possibly can. Queens Of The Stone Age is one of my favorite bands, if not my favorite band. Their music has served as a soundtrack throughout life during times of celebration, as well as grieving and loss. I have seen them play a number of times live over the course of the past 20 years and I knew it was finally time to get a proper commission.For that task, there was only man who fit the bill and that was none other than Jim aka “Food One” Mahfood! I knew this would be the perfect subject for him and man did he deliver! The whole desert vibe is properly captured here and the layout is fantastic. The pose from the girl is too good, it's beautiful. Not to mention that the snake design is sick! I really can't put into words how appreciative I am for this one. I sincerely look forward to getting to talk to Jim at conventions and events. He is an artist I have a ton of respect for and am thankful to have gotten to know him. We share some similar interests, and I knew that if I finally was going to get a QOTSA commision that he would be the perfect artist to do it. Sincere thanks to one of the finest damn Jims out there! This is a fantastic Mahfood piece! Rendered and detailed a bit more than usual. Makes a big difference. Love it!

Mahfood music related pieces are the best, this one came out amazing. QOTSA are a great band for sure. congrats on this one!

Dude, one of Jim's best IMO and that's saying something. Just ON point in terms of graphic sensibility, textures, pops of color...the whole nine. Jim definitely put his all into this one. Sincere congrats, man!

Jim Mahood is one of coolest artists out there. His album covers and book covers are universally drop-dead gorgeous. This commission for Queens of the Stone Age is right in line with all the other amazing album covers he's done. I've never heard Queens of the Stone Age play, but if they're half as good as this commission, I'll buy up all their albums.
