Description
The Four Horsemen is a very early painting from a very young Simone Bianchi, shown on page 17 in Echi, his first ever published portfolio art book. Shown are the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Death, Famine, War, and Conquest. Signed and dated "Bianchi 2000". Painted on a 18.5"x13.5" board, not canvas (is that common for him?).

Now to get this framed and hung somewhere in the house in a location where my wife doesn't have to walk past it everyday and get spooked.

Quite mature to tackle such an ambitious subject matter and turn out a masterwork!

Circled this glorious piece a few times. Glad such a passionate fan swooped in to give it a great and deserving home. Congrats!

Tell ya what...I'll just hang it up here and that solves everything...LOL...jk, jk.  Thought this piece matched the house and lady just wouldn't go for this one. Simone early like this often has the spaced out letters as a signature and the heavy moody layers.  It being on board is, if I recall correctly, done earlier in his career in some 'non-comic' works (give this dude anything he'll do art on it LOL).  Great add, wonderful piece, would love to see it framed when you do!

Thanks Will, but I can do you one better.  I'll let you have a very upclose look at it at the OAX 2025 show in January.

This is an extraordinary painting. Atmospheric, haunting, tells a narrative. Renaissance-esquire, unsurprisingly. I guess Simone was about 28 then. Hope you managed to find somewhere to display it! (I'm always short of wall space....)
