DescriptionSpider-Man and X-Factor: Shadowgames #1 Pg. 2 & 3 Double Page Spread (1994)Pencils by Pat Broderick Inks by Bruce Patterson Written by Kurt Busiek Lettered by Joe Rosen In another situation of "brand new appreciation for an older piece", finally was able to get a fresh high rez scan of this Spider-Man piece. This was also framed at one point and then later de-framed (awhile ago, not recently). I had a low rez scan and a bad photo of it previously, and this DPS deserves better! :) It's one of my favorite Double Page Spreads in my collection. Spider-Man in high flying, web slinging off the page action, as he tries to evade an ambush by the members of Shadowforce. From the Spider-man and X-Factor: Shadowgames 3 issue mini in 1994. Art by Pat Broderick and Bruce Patterson. I don't have a ton of 90s Spider-Man art, but the stuff I do have I treasure. Even though this art team isn't necessarily known for the character, I love the dynamic nature of this DPS. Social/Sharing |

Patterson was one of Broderick's best inkers, as this page shows! Nice upgraded scan.

That is a TON of primo Spidey images, and amazing detail throughout. They really can cram so much artistic goodness into a DPS. Major major congrats, Kavi!

When Paul P Spiderversity is impressed you know you've got something nice Spidey wise!! :-p - Thanks Paul - appreciate the love. I've got some more Spidey stuff to share down the line on CAF too that I'm sure you'll dig.

We're Airborne
We're all so tired of Shadowgames
We wait for fame and Ambush coming
We show off our different Scarlet Spiders
Trust me, mine is Parker
Were so young
Bricks paved on the road to ruin
We play fun but we know exactly Pat was doin'
We find here double pager in the artroom
Kavi, life is Bruce’s classroom
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
'Cause Kavi, I could build in Marvel
Out of all the bricks for street alley
And every Game is like a Shadow
But Spidey fight with us is like a dream
Kavi, we're the 90’s comics
Come on, come along with me
Heartbreak is inspirational tandem
Web swing it proudly
We are cool, Bruce is inking
To get knocked off our feet
Kavi, wrote the new Busieks
The best doubles in life are free

This is super cool, Kavi! Particulary love the depth on that large splashy panel kicking things off.

Great Spidey action and images spread over two pages. Who cares if the artists are known for working on the character or not? Great dps, Kavi. I'm really stoked that you're taking the time to make quality scans of your collection!

Thanks Ruben! I actually find scanning somewhat fun and relaxing to do, oddly enough. Of course I sort of have you to thank for the inspiration to get a nice scanner. And yeah I'm not sure why I said that the artists are not known for the character, was uncessary to say and not relevant to how awesome the piece is and how much I love it. Maybe sometimes without realizing I take self depricating shots at myself or my collection in subtle ways - should stop doing that, but I'll leave it in the write up because then your comment and my response would make no sense ;)

Dude, I've always loved scanning my art so I'm glad to hear you find scanning somewhat fun and relaxing to do. As for mention the artists not being known for drawing this character, I don't think it's a case of being self-depracating as much as it is a subconcious thought which is factual and we tend to focus on it when trying to buy stuff like this in order to not pay more than we should. But as you say, you already own it and only need to show it off now, so there's no reason to mention it in the description. But yes, I agree that you should leave it in there now that we're talking about it here! 😂

Fantastic crossover DPS, it's got X-Factor and Spider-Man, a great combo of many forces on a big spread. Literally lots to love from this nostalgic 90's art. Congrats!

Lots to pore over with this one! Corner to corner energy, and just screams '90s Spidey :) All capped off by him essentially swinging out of that last panel. Congrats, K!

Definitely deserves to be framed hanging on a wall. Amazing energy through and finishes with an incredible image of Spidey!
