Description
Cool auction pickup. Someone must have had an affinity for Spectre/Batman commissions because there werwe about 8 different ones up at auction a few weeks ago. Couple were really really cool and went for a bit more than I wanted to pay. Like $4k for a Skottie Young and $1.5k for a Mike Grell. I mean there were neat and all, but better published OA to be had for those prices.

This one caught my eye. I already have a small Fradon spectre. About 4x6. But this 11x17 monster made me stop and stare. Definitely had a golden age feel to it. Spectre was a bit more terrifying than I have seen rendered from others, but the punishment being dealt is straigt out of his playbook. Not sure why she chose to use a riddle on a Joker page. I wish it was dated.

The Spectres shadown looks like a demented minuteman to me. Don't you think? I wonder what she was getting at.

BTW, this one was a steal....

Yeah, this one is really fun. I don't get the riddle or even understand why she used a riddle, but the real riddle is how Spectre is getting the water into the jar....

A door isn't a door when it's ajar.

Is a jar a jar or ajar times two when its got a hole in the middle and on top? Methinks The Spectre has gone as crazy as The Joker. He thinks hes The Riddler. There could be an unscrewed joke here too, as Batman, one of the most tightly wound of heroes, has to unscrew to release The Joker. Let him drown, Batman. Hes not worth saving.

i think Spectre is going to use Flex-Seal to close that hole up!  The door is ajar!  The door is ajar!

Poor guy. He needs something that gets wet when drying.
