DescriptionI love me some Scott Morse.I first noticed Scott's work on his fabulous Elektra book. The colors and his layouts just spoke to me. From there I found some of his work for DC, and his creator owned books. None of them looked like anything else out there, and that's a good thing. A while later, he and Skottie Young started up a sketch blog where they challenged each other to do various characters. I managed to snag a few of those originals. Recently, Scott announced on Instagram that he was going to be doing some sketch covers and was asking for ideas on what people wanted to see. I reached out to ask if he was taking on any commissions. And that's how JJJ was born. The only direction I gave him was that I couldn't wait to see what he would do with my favorite "desk-pounding, cigar-smoking, pictures of Spider-Man-wanting newspaper editor." So Scott cooked up this cranky MFer. It's perfect. He's going to look great on the wall right next to Tim Sale's rendition. Social/Sharing |

Very nicely done to show that a newsman like JJJ can be caught up and obsessed within the Spider's web of Peter Parker.

J Jonah Jameson may be the greatest supporting character in all comics. Is there anyone who's more opinionated than JJJ? Has anyone tried harder to smear the reputation of Spider-Man than him? J Jonah Jameson is like a force of nature--fierce, furious and unstoppable. Love Scott's depiction of him here--Hunched over his coffee, the day's paper in his hand, a look of total disgust on his face. I love the angle Scott chose--Peering through a window, a broken cobweb framing Jonah's sour face. Classic!
