Bug-Out!
written by Paul Kupperberg

This issue tales starts with a train coming off its tracks on an overhead line and Supergirl arriving in the nick of time.
Infantino has always been known for his innovative layouts and this page is a great example. The center of the page is the falling trains, next you are drawn to the people below looking up in fear and consternation, and then next you see Supergirl swooping down.

Miki, that's indeed the exact order I saw those three elements in! Interesting too, that I just noticed this series was set in Chicago. I never knew that.

I like the setting too. also upon recent re-read the short lived supporting cast as well.

For readers at the time the Infantino art was a too much a relic of the past if not archaic. It turned away a lot of younger readers.

While I've grown to not only like but love the art especially the Oskner finishes as a child back then I put the book down after the first few issues probably to allocate the funds on yet another Marvel or Trading Cards...

Hey Rick! Yeah, I didn't read a lot of DC books I otherwise would have liked to read if it wasn't for the fact that I didn't have the money to buy them and still preferred to buy other Marvel titles I couldn't afford to get.

While I personally loved the Byrne and Pérez of the world back then, I actually also appreciated that Silve Age legends like Carmine were still doing comics. But you're right, MOST people found it too archaic by the early 80's. I'm glad art collectors have come around and begun to appreciate that material all these decades later, though.

Agree. The Infantino art was not a big draw for me in the beginning but I grew to appreciate it more as time went by.

Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it
Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it
Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it
Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it

Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can

Way deep down south, where displays this page
It's them art busy DCs and you, the fall of the train
So if you want Carmine your thing
Just the breakdowns he brings
We gonna rock, ooh, Lord, just jump aboard, Miki
So Andy Kubert in, Bob Oksner and his ink
Wrap it up now
Choo, choo, ride on this, choo, choo
And, loop, you need to stop falling, and Bug Out with me

Miss Kara take you home with me, to the station with me
And I can see you want the comic, Kupperberg rewrite it
And please don't knock it, until you ride it
So to all Supergirls, you know, I'm calling your name

Mikail, Eranga and JDam wanna ride this train, ride out now

Fun piece to look at. The focus is on the crash and worked my way over to Supergirl. Lots to look at. Love it!
