Description

The architect Renate Yildaz is eager for Martin to come and see what she discovered during renovations of Hitler's former bunker, the Eagle's Nest:

“..and I haven't even thanked you and Java for saving my life.”

“Renate! I'm glad to see you again.”

“You're leaving, if I understand correctly. Have you finished your work yet?”

“Yep. There are only a few exterior shots that don't require my presence.”

“You may find me insistent and perhaps annoying, but that little matter is still pending...”

“... our visit to the Eagle's Nest. Yeah, I can't stop thinking about it. Captain Steiner reports that those fanatics have been watching you for a long time. And I'd be really interested to know what you've discovered that's so important that you were subjected to a murderous attack.”

“I...didn't tell anyone about what I found out there.”

“You didn't want to tell me either, and now I'm more curious than ever. Maybe they stopped you, thinking the car was ours, since we've already established that those people don't like us too much.”

“Maybe. In fact, my staff and I have been working there for months, and nothing has ever happened.”

“Is the restaurant open during this period?”

“No. It closes from October to May, and the work I was doing is temporarily suspended as well.”

“Hmmm...”

“Mgh! Rgh?”

“'Shall we try again, then?' I'd say yes, Java, now that I'm done with my business here this time. We'll notify Captain Steiner right away. Maybe he'll want to come with us. At least he won't call me 'reckless' anymore.”

Up until now, this issue gave extensive space to narration of the actual life history of Prince Rudolf of Austria. From here on out, this issue and the next one alternate between two plot frames. One, as seen here, involves Martin's adventures with Renate Yildaz. The other is a fictional flashback imagining Rudolf's liaison with his maid Klara, and its consequences which are said to explain his suicide within a year.

She might have discovered a collection of Captain America number 1 comics hidden in the bunker.
