Description

Leiko Wu has been kidnapped by Saint Germaine; she can tell from his voice that he�s really long-time nemesis Fu Manchu. Elsewhere, in a sequence that drew me in with its cinematic panel progression, one of Germaine�s assassins gets the tables turned on him by Shang Chi! Shang Chi: Master of Kung Fu # 2, page 15 (2002).

A page from the wild Doug Moench/Paul Gulacy run on Master of Kung Fu was not something I thought was realistically on the menu. But that�s because I forgot about this reunion series from the early 2000s. Thanks to Patrick Wedge for this excellent reminder!

Nice intro to the page slowly fading in from the inky shadows to focus on Leiko's face! It also has a quick exit to the page done with force courtesy of Shang-Chi! All the sleek and smooth Gulacy and Palmiotti inks gives off sneaky ninja pacing in the page.

Some cinematic stealthy storytelling there ending with SC providing a wakeup call to the sneaker! Great stuff. Congrats, Eric!
