This is so outstanding on so many levels. Cerebus was pretty magical at this time, IMO - and pages like this were why. Thanks for sharing it!

Beautiful Gerhard backgrounds, but the killer for me here is the meter of the dialogue in the last panel, and how Dave deliberately arranged it to have a musical cadence that also resembled a rim shot at the end.

"Daddy, Daddy", "Grandpa, Grandpa", "My husband, my husband", "You're welcome!"

(1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3). Brilliant.
