DescriptionThis one started with Spider-man and Venom. Some time ago, a Daily CAF update hit my inbox featuring those two arch-nemeses mixing it up on a cool page by Kano. Intrigued, I followed the link to Splash Page Art only to find it had already been snatched up. However, I have fond memories of Kano on Action Comics with Joe Kelly, so I spent some time perusing the other pages Mark Hay had available and came across a heartwarming page of the Thing dropping a young lady off after a date. This took place in Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four, which, I’ll admit, I’d never heard of. Then again, it appears to be an all-ages book and I’m not the world’s biggest FF fan, so maybe that shouldn’t be surprising. Still, there was something about seeing the Thing have this sweet moment that made me smile. So, I hopped onto my Marvel Unlimited app and read the issue, along with the three that followed, all of which Kano penciled from Zeb Wells’ scripts. Each issue focused on a member of the FF, starting with Ben Grimm in issue 17, which was a heartwarming issue and my favorite of the bunch (I’ll be posting pages from it soon). However, I also quite enjoyed issue 18, which saw Sue Richards accept an offer to work for Nick Fury after feeling unappreciated by her family. It was a fun, done-in-one issue that offered genuine emotion and a solid message, so I jumped at the chance to get this beauty of a closing page from it. As you can tell from the splash, everything works out in the end. I love how happy and content Sue looks after the team tells her how they couldn’t do it without her, and how content Ben is to see Sue happy. On top of that, we get a big old Johnny Storm 4 signal high above. Couldn’t ask for much more than that from an FF splash. Social/Sharing |

Great look that reminds me of this era of the title with Weiringo on the main title and the FF Adventures following the animation universe. Kano definitely has the bold and fresh look of the animated series down in this Sue Storm and Thing centric splash!

Love their expressions here as well as the overall pure illustration! Got a hopeful vibe, which is the vibe I like with FF :) Kinda reminds me of the Waid/Wieringo run, which is a good thing! Congrats!
