Doctor Strange, Fall Sunrise #2, page 27 (Tradd Moore)

Beautiful page CAB! Major congrats on this. Tradd's style and vision are some of the most unique I've seen. I take a liking to artist styles that even from a mile away you can tell it's that paticular artist. Also love your view on the hobby; we all do it for our enjoyment and that's what matters most. ^_^

Brilliant page. I love the contrast of panel two, which looks like it might be Tradd scraping/etching into the paper to achieve much of the textured effect. 

FWIW, regarding the price point arguments you mentioned in the description, here are my personal guiding principles (beyond budget, which is always the main factor) that I think about before making a possible purchase, just in case it's ever helpful to anyone else: 

• Artwork you’d enjoy regardless of price or prestige
• Visualize it sitting in your portfolio - was it worth buying at the price?
• Stick to published unless Sam Kieth or Bernie?
• Think of cost effectiveness - is this piece worth giving up the next one for?
• Should give you those sweet jitters

Congrats CAB it's a great page/piece by Tradd from a project that is singularly his style and creation both art and story. I can't think of a bad page from this series, art-wise. It's the writing/story part I personally had more of a difficult time connecting with, but to each their own of course. I find the divisiveness about his art prices usually coming from a pretty silly place, people buy what they want...there will always be opinions about art that is undervalued or overpriced, but at the prices his art can achieve being relatively new and fresh to market from recently released projects, really good for him to accomplish it. He's doing something different and it has connected with a wide array of readers and collectors so far, that should be celebrated. nice example!

Look at that 2nd panel!  It's even more out there than the surreal visions Tradd uses for the rest of the page!  There are also a lot surreal visions out there in thinking what luxury items should cost.  Especially when they sell out at the price marked within 5 minutes.

Moore is a unique voice with a memorable style. Good art makes people think and talk about it, both of which happen here.

Unfortunately when the focus is more on the price than the art (and then lapses further into personal attacks), it gets a little messy - although I do acknowledge that one cannot completely distinguish the quality of the artwork from the its price. What is required, in the final analysis, is balance, in my view.

I love Tradd Moore's art. Specially the one he performed in Doctor Strange's series. I fully agree you. To me, the best of the hobby is there are a lot of different point of views and tastes and opinions. This diversity is what it makes the hobby amazing. I try to listen and observe the ones who preceded me and to try to avoid mistakes. But sometimes happen. Smart thoughts my friend!

I must say, although I wasn't aware that the "Tradd Moore Controversy" has recently been revived, my reaction to that is "Who cares?!?". It is so exhausting to constantly see people feel the need to constantly harp o nthe value of a given artist's art prices. It's perfectly fine for anyone to have an opinion about the topic and also state said opinions, but to continue beating a dead horse because it won't drink at the trough is akin to banging your head against the wall, thinking that the wall might eventually break (before your head does). It's pointless and tiring. Best to not go anywhere near those people and just ignore them. I concur with the other commenters who rightfully point out how outstanding that second panel is. I'd love to see Moore draw and entire issue like that!

Dear Rubén, of course I absolutely agree with you. The problem is, as I see it, at bottom one of clash(es) of personalities and/or the desire to always have the last word - either or both of which is a recipe for disaster and often undending conflict (which subsides only to be revived again in the fullness of time).  All most unpleasant and the antithesis of what our hobby stands for.  On an entirely different note, I am quite surprised at the enthusiasm for the second panel - although it is, to be sure, quite distinctive.

Absolutely stunning page! Tradd Moore's work on Doctor Strange is some of the most beautiful comic book artwork I've ever seen. Every page of the comic demands the reader to take the time to study it and look really closely. His work is not always easy to follow, but if you make the effort, the reward is there. I love this page as we follow Stephen Strange on his journey. I love all the different techniques Tradd uses on this one page! The linework is exceptional. And the inks are superb! Great example from a great comic book!
