Description
As I have never seen a complete Sunday from 1938 - and very few examples of single panels too, I am happy to add this beautiful panel with Val and his horse riding out on new adventures..
So if I should ever have a single panel from this early year THIS was simply it..!

Heritage Auction wrote : Please note that of all the Prince Valiant art Heritage has auctioned, we have never had a full Prince Valiant Sunday from 1938, and this is just the second time we have even had a single panel! Hal Foster often worked in such a large scale that this single Sunday panel from the 56th Prince Valiant comic strip measures 9.5" x 8", larger than some complete Sunday strips! When fans wrote the artist letters, he often sent them a single panel, such as this, as a "Thank You." This stunning example from the 3-5-38 Sunday strip, featuring the young Val on horseback, exiting a castle, is personalized and signed at the top of the image area, "To Bob Brown, From Hal Foster."

I can only agree, Al. That was why I had to have this beautiful example.I have only seen one other panel from the same year. Which was actually from the very same Sunday page. If anyone out there has other 1938 panels / partly pages I would love to hear from you :-)

The prince's facial expression, the horse starting up - a great panel, a picture in itself. I hope it finds a great frame and a place on the wall. Congratulations!
