Description
In 1990, a drawing from this scene was offered in my friend's animation auction. Although I already had some great drawings of the character, I thought that the drawing was the best image of Chernabog thatI I had ever seen. I bid a huge amount (over $4,000) - close to if not the record price that had ever been paid for a Disney animation drawing - but I was outbid. A day or two later, the dealer/agent for the person who had consigned the drawing to the action came to my office with another drawing, perhaps this one, from the same great scene. She wanted the same huge price for which the other had sold, but I thought it was absurd. My competition already had one and i was pretty sure their was no third potential buyer at such a high level. I offered a large amount, but she wouldn't take it. Instead, she went to my friend the auctioneer and sold it to him for a fraction of what I had offered ($1,000 vs. $2,500). I was so mad, especially after my "best friend" refused to sell it to me, even for a profit!

Now, 34 years later, I got it, and for less than the first one had cost.

Great pose with so much operatic drama applied to this piece!
