Description
I was really happy to win this cover from Heritage recently, as I think the images in this cover are beautiful and actually a lot better than a lot of the covers that Kirby did for the main Captain America title in this period. I love the layout, and how Jack was able to draw Cap in several poses, the Red Skull, Sharon Carter, Bucky, AIM.... and of course Steve Rogers giving up the Captain America mantle, which reminds of the famous Spidey cover... Verpoorten is usually not as highly regarded as some of the other inkers of the era, but I think he did a good job in this one... This one will definitely have a spot on the wall for a long time!

I love that it has the Red Skull on it, but I love that it's an homage to Amazing Spider-Man #50 as well!

Marvel does it right again!  The reprint titles gave us old classics that reinforced the current titles with their new covers that made them fresh again!  The movie marquee logo is very appropriate as they brought the same thrill.   ASM 50 homage for sure, but the montage of scenes is the Kirby of then and of the past.

And tastefully signed by Joe Simon - that is a rare, cool plus!

Spendid Captain America cover--This one's got everything you could want in a Cap cover--The Red Skull, Cap in battle, Sharon Carter, Bucky, etc. Love Jack Kirby's work on the Marvel Double Feature title--Some of his best work from his later years. The image of Steve Rogers walking away from his mask is one of those super-memorable images that sear themselves into your brain: Once you've seen it, you can't forget it. Phenomenal pick-up, sincere congrats!

Is that a Joe Simon signature?  Wow, that is so cool.  Oh, and awesome cover too!
