It's not often we get to correct mistakes, but this is me correcting one of mine. I should have tried harder to get it sooner, but with huge thanks to Jared, it's now in my collection.

I didn't fully appreciate, or remember if I knew, that Kevin essentially completely re-drew the pages on a different board, simply using Dave Taylors layouts as exactly that, layouts. The Taylor layout, which is out there in the world, is shown in the additional images for the before/after comparison.

There is so much to look at and appreciate in this image. You can start with the cape, then look at the texture on the building, and then Supes face...and then go back to the cape...

Beautiful splash! I love the fact that Kevin completely redrew the image and made it his own version separate from the layout. Congrats on a killer piece!

This is why Kevin has been one of my favorite artists for almost 40 years. I could study that Nowlan cape for hours. Absolutely stunning page. Congratulations.

Nowlan's sole focus with his refined inks takes the Dave Taylor image to a different level when pulled out of context to show a welcoming and friendly alien visitor.

fantastic example of Nowlan work and a great Superman image - is that downtown Cleveland in the bakground (refence to the recent filming)
