Description

This is the first sketch card I've actually commissioned from Jeff in a while (as opposed to just bidding on warmup cards whose characters he chose himself). He'd already done a whole bunch of warmup cards featuring characters from the animated Legion, but I decided I didn't want to wait any longer to get my absolute favourite character from the show - Brainiac 5, of course!

Considering Brainy has one of the most "stylized" designs of the entire show, I think Jeff did an incredible job blending all the cartoon design elements with his own personal style. I was really impressed that he went above and beyond to include Brainy's arm in the card too, when he already had so many other details he wanted to get right! The hair especially did give Jeff some trouble at first, but speaking as a bit of a Legion cartoon enthusiast (to put it lightly), I'm so, so happy with how the final product turned out! Jeff absolutely nailed the hair once he got it all figured out, and I love that he added a little bit of blue to the more shaded parts of Brainy's skin, since he's a lot more teal (not fully green) in the show, compared to the comics. And I know I've said it four times before, but I'll say it again: I'm absolutely in love with the spacescape backgrounds Jeff does!

The color scheme is fantastic! They look like they are just dripping with popsicle juice!
