Description
This is my favorite interior page by Starlin and maybe my favorite interior page by anyone. It has been at the top of my want list for decades and I am very happy to have this in my collection. I didn't always like the Leialoha inks, and this doesn't look like Steve's work to me, but regardless, this pages transcends. Here is HA's write up:
Jim Starlin and Steve Leialoha Warlock #12 Title Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1976). Science fiction master Jim Starlin is well-remembered for his take on Warlock. His great rendition of Adam Warlock resting at Mama Alpha's tavern after terminating the Magus (in the previous issue) is rendered in ink over graphite on a section of Bristol board measuring 10" x 12". The art is affixed to a Bristol board measuring 10.75" x 16". Page logo, text balloon, and indicia paste-ups. Glue residue staining in the indicia from text cut outs. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.

Congratulations! I have fond memories of buying this issue off a spinner rack way back when. Poor Pip, no reward for rescuing that blue damsel in distress. I love that image of a brooding Adam in the foreground. A true masterpiece!

Starlin /Leialoha were a great copy and in my opinion the latter was not limited to just the inks here. This does not mean that it is not a wonderful and highly evocative art . Huge and sincere congratulations!

Layout, light study and mostly the facial expressions of all the characters are just perfect. Even the lettering of the title fits perfectly.  A true gem!

A Warlock splash by Starlin and Leialoha?  The very definition of a grail!  Many congrats on finally giving this treasure it's rightful place in your collection.  Although,I have to agree, this does not look like Leialoha's inks at all.  Maybe Starlin inked this page and Leialoha inked the rest of the book?  Just a thought.

Only Jim Starlin could draw that page. It is a GEM! I love the depth that page has in both senses. It is amazibg the contrast between Adam's and Pip's attitudes.

Awesome splash!  One of my favorite little details - the faces on the steins.

Congrats and I do believe Starlin inked this.  By the way, Steve is pretty good about responding to inquiries about what he did on the Warlock books.

This is truly great! It is without a doubt, pure Starlin...no Leialoha on this one.
