Thanks. But actually, it's the other way around. The movie was based on the comic book series.

You are correct the movie was based on the two limited comic series that came out in 91 and 92. However after the movie, the title was revived in 95 for an ongoing series that lasted 17 issues and this title in 96 that lasted 12 issues. So I should have said 'based on the 1994 movie's success'.

Oh, okay. Thanks, as I wasn't actually aware that an ongoing series had been produced as well.
