Brother Blood VIII?!? The first one was already a garbage villain. They made 7 more? DIE!

That's some funky looking blood on the knife - he probably had a host of health problems. It was a mercy killing. 

If I didn't have the dialogue to read in that second panel I would swear that Brother Blood was complaining about the food!!!
