Description
15" x 10" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Detective Comics #431 page 4 original art (DC, July 1972). Murphy Anderson and Irv Novick. From the Irv Novick family collection.

One can never tire of the hypnotic images of Batman's flowing cape, and the dark shadowed mood of the Batman art of this era.

A very nice Bronze Age Batman page! But fyi, Novick is the penciller and Anderson is the inker, not the other other way around.

Great new dark direction of Batman going the opposite direction of the Batman '66 era.  More gritty grounded reality in the mysterious look and slamming action!  Not a bad panel in this page!
