Ian Bertram - Batman Eternal #11 p 14

This page couldn’t be more representative of Ian’s style and storytelling, and after worrying for years that someone else might nab it before me, I finally decided to make the investment myself. Not only does this page feature a terrifying portrayal of Batman (what a traumatized Selina Kyle saw as he apprehended her father), but the tentacles and imagery look like it could be lifted straight from the Little Bird universe (looking at you, Yoru from Precious Metal).

Looks very cool how Bertram controls the density of his details. He does this in service of the story as opposed to how he does his commissions that explode with energy every direction. That Batman close up is the key to the page and Bertram draws it with great emotion.
