The Question Quarterly 4 (Vol 1) Cover

Joe Quesada and Dick Giordano

I was bummed when The Question series ended back in 1990. But, not long after, The Question Quarterly started with the same creative team of writer Dennis O'Neil and mostly artist Denys Cowan. There ended up being 5 issues to it. Joe Quesada was the other artist. Joe created this issue's cover and I think drew interiors to a couple other issues.

This is some of Joe Quesada's early work. How many Question covers weren't created by Deny Cowan back then? This one and just a few others I think. It is interesting that the tool/weapon in Question's hand disappeared on the printed cover. Maybe the editor didn't want people thinking Question had a new side hustle as a Auto Mechanic or joined Pipefitters Local 360. Who knows. I am sure the book did not ask or answer this question.
