Description

Was always a big fan of the Heathcliff cartoon growing up. Enjoyed the tough, alley cat persona over the snarky, lazy cat Garfield. His adventures were just way more interesting.

This Sunday captures that persona oh so perfectly. Bullying the neighborhood robbers and robbing them to top it off. Just love the 4th and 5th panel sequence. Just classic storytelling and imagery that's so clear to follow.

Though this particular strip is before my time, Heathcliff and his escapades are right up my nostalgia alley.

Heathcliff would have stolen Garfield's lasagna and smacked him with the pan after.

Congrats! Now that I think about it you sharing your strip may've given me the subliminal nudge to share mine.

The center panel is what defined Heathcliff over any other cat.  The Wet Bandits have no chance!

Super fun! I had almost forgotten Heathcliff was a bit of a bad-ass!

Ah, Heathcliff, what became of thee? How did a baggy-eyed cat with an infatuation for lasagna resign you to the dust bin of cartoon cat history?!?
