Red Norvell was the Thor you love to hate. Presumptuous, irreverent, disrespectful, and lustful (well who amongst us did not lust for the Lady Sif? She is the reason the paragon of beauty, to me, is black hair and blue eyes with a female warrior's physique). This cover is the perfect example of the storyline. One and done! Here is HA's write up:



John Buscema and Bob McLeod Thor #278 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1978). This classic cover delivers twice the Thor action as everyman Roger 'Red' Norvell dons the Belt of Strength and Iron Gloves, transforming into a new God of Thunder capable of wielding Mjolnir. Odin, Lady Sif, and the Odinson look on as the newest Asgardian warrior faces off against the Midgard Serpent, marking the beginning of the apocalyptic Ragnarök. Created with ink and shading film over graphite on Bristol board, the piece has an image area of 9.75" x 14.5". The corner box, logo, header, and all cover text are stat paste-ups. The board is toned, with glue residue and minor stains, along with some whiteout corrections and light smudging/handling wear. Signed by John Buscema and Bob McLeod in the lower left next to the blank UPC box, and in Very Good condition.
