Stumbled upon this in a random art portfolio at HeroesCon 2023. It was the find of the Con for me. One of my favorite artists - - and his work seldom seems to come up, as he was in the industry so briefly in the late '90s. I own multiple sets of his Green Arrow issues.

(Thank you to Matt Wieringo for providing a plastic sleeve for the art. I went back over to his booth and he shared my enthusiasm at finding this piece - - even said his brother Mike Wieringo, one of my other favorite artists, knew of Damaggio's work and was similarly blown away by it.)

The shadows, the architecture, the athleticism of Connor Hawke vaulting over the villa -- perfection. Damaggio/Campanella were an amazing art team. Plus the hand-lettering by John Costanza. This two-part storyline saw the characters traveling to Mexico, with lots of Aztec-inspired imagery.
