Description

A.D. Condo produced The Outbursts of Everett True comic strip from 1905 to 1927. In 1948, after years of searching, August Derleth tracked down Condo at a retirement home in California. He commissioned Condo to produce new Everett True strips, and planned to issue a large 3-400 page collection through his Stanton & Lee imprint of Arkham House. Condo produced new strips, but the book never came to fruition.

This piece was commissioned from Condo by August Derleth in 1949.

Having a bunch of later condo True art fro mthe 1940s I was wondering where it came from as the clipped strips I own are fro mway earlier thanks for posting this stuff!

Yep, I think all the strips that you and I have were commissioned by Derleth long after the original strip had ceased. I've never seen an original from the 1905-1927 time period. When Derleth found Condo in 1948, it was a year too late. In 1947 Condo had cleaned out his house and thrown away all his old stuff, which included some old strips.
